LA Chargers Training Camp

The Chargers Training Camp

What’s up guys! This is Gio the founder/creator & host of The Fantasy Sports Cave we had the great opportunity to spend back to back days at the LA Chargers practice facilities, the first day was at their training camp in Costa Mesa, CA which was dope (in other words uhhmazing) man I'm so glad to have football back! Let me start out by saying that the training camp atmosphere was unbelievable, I had the opportunity to invite a few of my friends to tag along and I think we were all just kids at a candy store. We watched the Chargers practice for about a little over two hours. We saw everything from seeing Quarterback Phillip Rivers doing target practice drills to Defensive End Joey Bosa beastin’ it up on the field and my man @hitman37_ ( Jahleel Addae #37) that plays the Safety position was saucin’ it up on the field with some dance moves.

I will say it again MANNN I’M GLAD FOOTBALL is BACK!! After the practice was over a few of the players came over to sign autographs and talked to the fans! We met Keenan Allen #13 who is the Chargers number one WR and I know everyone is praying that he stays healthy all year long.  Also rookie WR Mike Williams #7 stopped by and said a few things but his status for the year is still unknown with his back injury that could be season ending. But by far the coolest thing that happened was Dontrelle Inman #15 WR for the Chargers giving us a shout out!

We also ran into Head Coach Anthony Lynn after practice, but security was denying us access to the sensei behind all of the Chargers plays this year but me being a quicker thinker I yelled “What’s up coach we came all the way from LA we just want to say what’s up!” To our surprise he came over and started talking to us. My boy Bobby T got the camera ready for me to ask the coach some questions but I was shocked and surprised that he was coming to talk to us that it all happened so fast that I kind of froze for a bit. Instead of welcoming him to LA and saying something like “What can we expect for this year? or “You guys have a great opportunity to make the Chargers LA’s number 1 football team!” All I said was “What’s up coach thank you” (insert crickets) Umm YA...

 Me afterwards...

Well I was thanking him for coming over and talking to us but I was really trying to promote The Fantasy Sports Cave and get more in-depth questions for a candid response. I just feel like I could of done better a job. Regardless it’s all a learning experience and I may just be overthinking it, nevertheless I got him to come over say what’s up! And check out this awesome photo I got with the sensei!

The second day was the LA Rams vs LA chargers scrimmage at The StubHub Center in Carson, CA which will be home of the Chargers for the next three football seasons. While their new stadium is being built in Inglewood, CA called Los Angeles Stadium at Hollywood Park which will be shared with the LA Rams. I am a big fan of the StubHub Center it holds about 30,000 seats and there is honestly not a bad seat in the house. It is a very intimate setting, I’ve had the opportunity to attend concerts and watch LA galaxy soccer games there. In my opinion, there is not another stadium in the NFL that will get you as close to the action without actually being on the field.

After watching the Rams and Chargers practice I decided to start interviewing fans and asking them questions like “What were their thoughts about the Chargers moving to Los Angeles?” Their responses we’re very candid, some folks were a bit disappointed that the Chargers left San Diego but overall they were sticking with them. One of the first people I interviewed; Carlos said it best “It’s a big move with mixed emotions but I think it’s great for the organization coming to a big city market, we’re here to win, LA wins and so will the Chargers!” Another fan Miss Lacey, said “I’ve been a Chargers fan since I was 14 years old I’m a ride or die fan where ever they go I go”. Long time Charger fan Jaime also said “The move is going to make a big difference they needed this, it’s going to happen here in LA because LA is the city of champions” The vibe with the fans at the stadium was vey exciting, positive, and just thrilled to have football back especially in LA!

Being able to interact with the fans, players, and even the coaches has made our visit to the LA Chargers training facilities the greatest experience. The future is definitely bright here in LA for both the Chargers and LA Rams this city has been without football for way too long! I hope you guys enjoyed this article please like and comment and let us know your thoughts.
