Week 10 Fantasy Football Perdicitions
By: Matt Burt
A lot of games tonight and a lot of different options to play. I spent the majority of this morning researching stats tonight and drinking coffee. Lets hit the time machine and review last night. The good, Brewers stack. Playing Lorenzo Cain was a great idea leading to 43 fantasy points as the brewers put up 12 runs on Miami, however disappointed in Chase Anderson with giving up 3 runs but lucky redeemed my self in playing Grenkie. The bad, not playing Jake Arrieta who went off for 60 fantasy points tonight. Ugh, I did have a gut feeling about Arrieta but my ugly, choice in Matt Harvey, overpowered the urge with a great price. He was not vintage Matt Harvey last night. You live, you learn, and you pick yourself back up.
Gold Standard Pitching
SO MANY OPTIONS! Kershaw, Scherzer, and Verlander oh my! I will note that all are safe choices and it's Basically your pick of the liter. To me, in FanDuel, I'm all about potential upside and price point. SO for Tonight, I like...Drum Roll Please...
Justin Verlander (11.1k) versus the Chicago White Sox its a strikeout match made in heaven. I also like Houston getting a win and Verlander getting a quality start. For the quality start and the win has a higher guarantee for both than Scherzer or Kershaw and is cheaper. I like him for that reason. Although I will say Kershaw is never a bad call. Clayton is second on my list at (11.5k) because of the Dodgers offense right now is better than the Nationals. But I rather play Verlander and live with the results of that game.
Kanye Gut Feeling
Chris Archer (8k) I remember when Chris Archer was a Cy Young caliber pitcher two years ago. now he is priced at 8k and with all this elite hitting talent tonight in favorable matchups. That price makes my mouth water more than a Philly cheese steak, and I love me a good Philly cheesesteak. Also, he is playing a tired Minnesota team after 15 innings in their last game and having to travel yesterday from their trip to Puerto Rico at home.
Micheal Wacha (6.6k) he is very underpriced and he is playing the reds, that's why he gets considered for a cheap option. He definitely won't be highly owned tonight with all the other great pitching around him. he is worth a look at least.
Kyle Schwarber (4.2k) and Anthony Rizzo (4.0k) I'm in love with the Cubs power at Coors Field. The altitude will prove to be huge for the long ball tonight and with an over under of 10 runs, yes, 10 runs get your hands on some Cubs and Rockies players. I also like the price of Ian Happ (3.4k) and Jason Hayward (3.0k) if you really like the cubs tonight play all three. If you pay up for pitching play Hayward and Schwarber.
*CHECK ROCKIES CUBS WEATHER
Travis Shaw (3.6k) and Lorenzo Cain (2.9k) I'm going back to the well tonight for the brewers. The pitching for the Marlins isn't good, to say the least. Also, The night after Cain puts up 40 points his price drops by .1, with all this pitching today go back to the Cain well. I like also Braun (2.9k) his price is looking appetizing. I would go with some brewers tonight.
*if Cubs and Rockies get rained out*.
Buster Posey (3.3k) and Andrew McCutchen (3.8k) I think the giants will put some runs on the board with a 9 run over/under tonight. After looking over the numbers Giants righties will get to heanly tonight against the Angels. Best of all this will be a low owned stack. Which will boast your lineup.
Dark Horse/ Kanye Gut feeling
Brandon Crawford (2.0k) He is a minimum price guy who is worth taking a risk on. He is way better than his price indicates. he hits alot doubles and triples in at&t but in more in a hitter-friendly ballpark he hits home runs but tonight I'm feeling a home run. Based off of where Heanly likes to throw the ball and where Crawford likes to hit. They have matching hot zones. 2k for Crawford is an interesting play. He has a slump buster night tonight.
My favorite brand of baseball cards is Topps and my favorite section is the Topps plays for tonight. I love all cubs and brewers tonight, I'll go with Kyle Schwarber, Ryan Braun, and Justin Verlander for my Topps plays tonight. Do your research don't blindly pick players, air density and wind patterns need to be semi considered.
May the FanDuel odds ever be in your favor.
