The El Paso Chihuahuas entered Thursday’s contest with the Reno Aces needing three home runs for 200 on the season, four team home runs surpassed the mark in the 7-4 win. El Paso now has 201 homers, making them the only professional baseball team with 200 in 2019.
El Paso entered the eighth inning trailing 1-0, then Jose Pirela extended his hitting streak to 16 games with a three-run shot. Michael Gettys added insurance with a three-run homer, his fourth home run in as many games. Those two cracks of the bat were all the Chihuahuas needed to defeat the Rainiers 6-1 Saturday.
