LAFC drops points for the third consecutive time as they draw 2-2 against a playoff chasing Orlando City SC. Due to the International break, Coach Bob Bradley assigned an unfamiliar team sheet. One where we saw a pair of Perez-es as wingers and an interesting midfield trio in Latif Blessing, Lee Nguyen, and Diego Rossi. The departures of key players made this match a great time for irregular starters to get some minutes on the field.

In the 12th minute, Adrien Perez gets LAFC on the board first with a goal off a set piece play from a corner kick, his first for the Black and Golf. Not even a minute later, Orlando City’s Portuguese Captain, Nani, beats the defense with a run for a chance to chip it over Tyler Miller. Nani levels it 1-1.

About 8 minutes later, Orlando wingback Ruan sends a negative pass from the edge of the box for Benji Michel to tap it in, giving the homeside a 2-1 lead. For the remainder of the first half, the broadcast of the match was experiencing some technical difficulties, leaving many fans confused and angry.

LAFC began the second half with control, maintaining 64% of possession and a good amount of chances from the attacking half, including another goal from Adrien Perez that ended up being waved off due to offsides. Despite the statistics, Orlando was just as hungry to get another goal. At around the 77th minute, Nani finds Santiago Patiño with a cross in the box, but Patiño fails to convert the potential game sealer with the Volley just wide of the post.

Moments later, Diego Rossi responds by converting a chance of his own. A beautifully executed decoyed give-and-go play between Rossi and Diomande ties it up 2-2. The two clubs continue to fight for the remainder of the game, but fall short of grabbing the full three points, with the final score LAFC 2 Orlando City SC 2.

The Black and Gold now have their focus on their next match against the leaders of the Eastern Conference, Philadelphia Union. Will the West feast on the East? Or will the East best the West? Get ready as the best take on the best next weekend.
