El Paso Shutout Sunday

Following a two hour and 57 minute rain delay, four Memphis pitchers combined for a one-hit shutout of the El Paso Chihuahuas Sunday, as the Redbirds won 2-0.

It was the first time in Chihuahuas team history that they’d been held hit-less. Memphis has taken two of the first three games of the series.

Dillon Overton allowed one earned run over five innings Sunday, giving El Paso starting pitchers 17 innings and only three earned runs in the series. El Paso’s lone hit was a fifth-inning single off the bat of catcher Webster Rivas.
