The Sparks lose on the road 83-78 to the New York Liberty.

Nneka Ogwumike had a great game and led the Sparks with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Chelsea Gray added 19 points and 5 assists but it wasn’t enough to hold off the Liberty.

The Liberty starting line up was in foul trouble most of the night and the bench stepped up by scoring 43 points.

Rookie Marine Johannes came off the bench and led the Liberty with 17 points of her own.

The Commissioner of the NBA Adam Silver was in attendance and saw the game from the stands.

The Sparks roster had only had 8 players active for the game. Candace Parker (right ankle), Alana Beard (left hamstring), Alexis Jones (right knee sprain), Maria Vadeeva (knee) are all injured. Riquna Williams is serving the second game of her 10-game suspension for a domestic violence incident.

The Sparks next game will be in Atlanta versus the Dream.

Can the Sparks bounce back for the win or will the Dream be too much?
