LAFC wins in the final game of the regular season 3-1 versus the Colorado Rapids and makes history with the most points (72) in a season.

Carlos Vela continued his stellar play by scoring a hat-trick in the game and totaling 34 goals for the season. Vela broke Atlanta United’s Josef Martinez 31 goal mark and more than likely secured the MVP award with his performance.

Carlos Vela made history by scoring his 32nd goal of the season at the 28th minute. He then followed up with a bicycle kick goal at the 31st minute. Chants of MVP drew louder and louder around the Banc of California stadium.

At the 39th minute the Rapids manage to cut the lead in half when Kei Kamara scored a header for a goal.

But it was Vela’s night and at the 50th minute Vela scored his 3rd goal for the hat-trick.

LAFC finishes the season as the #1 seed and secure a bye in the first round. They will await the winner of the #4 Minnesota vs #5 Galaxy match up.

Before the game, the 3252 supporter group presented the front office with an award to recognize them for their work in the community.
