El Paso Tx. - El Paso is on the verge of seeing their first Professional team clinch a playoff spot for the first time in franchise history which is a pretty big deal considering the entire team coaches and staff has come to show that the passion, love and ambition for the sport is there and they want to give this to the fans. They want to show they are prepared to give it their all every time they get on the pitch and tonight will be no exception. They will be facing arguably their most difficult match of the five remaining they have this season against Fresno FC. They have shown true potential against some of the strongest teams and we know tonight will be no different!

Let’s break down what to expect for tonight’s matchup!

Locomotive FC:

Locomotive FC are back home once again in El Paso Tx. Where they will be playing one of the three remaining home matches and with all the confidence and on their side, they are prepared for tonight.

With two incredible wins, one at home in a (2-0) victory against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC which gave Brayam Rebellón his first goal of the season and a spot-on USL’s team of the Week and gave their most recent signing the Frenchmen Alexy Bosetti his first goal with Locomotive FC as well. The win on the road was a (2-1) victory against Sacramento Republic FC after a two hour total delay because of some ridiculous weather the team managed to come back from being down (1-0) with two goals one from once again Brayam Rebellón at the 48th minute of the match and the one to seal the victory by Josué Aarón Gomez at the 91st minute a very late goal but well deserved victory.

With these past two wins they sit now in 9th place and even if the season ended, they clinch a wildcard position, but the goal is to be in the top 6 of the conference to secure a playoff spot. They are just three points away from getting into sixth place so tonight will be huge if they can pull of a win. With the likes and performance from Rebellón, Gomez, Bosetti, And the way the defensive end and Logan has maintained his ground in the box it’s clear that they are hungry and will get to where they want to be!

Fresno currently sit in second place of the Western conference with a whopping 52 points on the board which separates them 14 points from locomotive who sit with 42 points so far. Fresno FC is coming in with three wins and two losses in their last five matches and even beat the Phoenix Rising who is basically sitting untouchable in first place for the Western Conference. Last time Fresno played Locomotive FC, Fresno faced a beaten and injured El Paso team that had three matches in the course of seven days, so they had an easy matchup winning (3-0) against them back in June. They will be no easy team and they might have a more difficult time against a more complete, restructured and refocused squad down here in El Paso.

Make sure you don’t miss out tonight’s match at Southwest University Park at 7pm (MT) and if you can’t make it the match will be available through ESPN+ and the Local CW network!
