The Rockets were so close last season, Chris Paul was one strained hamstring away from going to the NBA finals. The goal is nothing short of an NBA championship this year, as the team at a key additions like All-Star forward Carmelo Anthony to a high potent offensive roster.
The Houston Rockets are reportedly planning on using Carmelo Anthony as their six man during the upcoming season. Coach Mike D'Antoni wants to start Eric Gordon and bring Carmelo off the bench, also reportedly wants to pair Anthony with James Ennis as much as possible due to Ennis strength as a defender. James Ennis fits the scheme well that could be a bargain as a minimum salary signing.
The issue will be how Houston's defense holds up when teams hunt Carmelo on switches, but this team should be hungrier than ever considering how close they came last year to a world championship.
The Houston Rockets will take on the Memphis Grizzlies at home on October 2nd to begin the preseason.
