El PASO, TX —What a finish to week three! The NFL ended their third week in big surprises, major upsets and domination on the field from many unexpected teams. As well as controversial calls like every season that question the credibility of how these rules are being enforced. None the less it was one hell of a week entertaining as always and for those who play fantasy football major points from key players who mostly like got you the win because of their clutch performance.
Let’s break it down and recap week three!
NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS:
Is it to early to make assumptions? I don’t believe so last year we had a similar start to Tom Brady and the Patriots and ended up in the Super Bowl against the Eagles. It was bound to happen where this team would struggle with a head coach (Matt Patricia) who was very familiar with the style of play and knows the capabilities of this Powerhouse team who year after year dominates the AFC East.
Having a heavy defensive line coming at you who clearly had a number on TB12 and players rarely open or available to receive a pass it was certain that New England would struggle to the likes of the Detroit Lions which ended in a defeat of 26-10. It turned out to be a complete upset and hard to watch for any Patriots fan, but clearly not the beginning of the end of an era.
We can clearly agree with Stephen A. Smith and his argument against Max Kellerman on First Take today. Look and leave your thoughts in the comments.
Is Baker Mayfield the key to success in Cleveland?
It just might be true, after their insane win against the New York Jets on Thursday of 21-17, the rookie QB came in to show his potential and why he was the number 1 draft in April and why Cleveland believes in the Baker Era. He showed true accuracy and skill like he did in Oklahoma and is now officially the starting quarterback replacing Tyrod Taylor who suffered a concussion.
Baker will have to give it all this upcoming game against a struggling 0-3 Oakland Raiders. That will surely be an interesting game which Oakland is in high hopes of avoiding a 4th loss.
We had the LA Showdown this weekend to see who is really the dominate team in LA and with little to no doubt Jared Goff and the Rams came in and held off the Chargers to a 35-23 win.
Goff had a total of 354 yards passed and three touchdowns, and Todd Gurley rushed for 105 yards which is becoming something common for the Dominant RB. This performance led to a victory over the Chargers in the franchises' first match up since their relocation to LA.
Overall and after a much-deserved win The Rams need to really prepare for their matchup against the Minnesota Vikings since it’s only 2 days away and with the injury report starting to get a little bigger it’ll be evident that it could be a factor of ending their undefeated streak which I’m certain all LA Rams fans want to avoid.
Straight from NFL.com this is what they consider to be the top 5 in the power rankings for the upcoming Week 4.
The LA Rams jump to number 1, but still will struggle in the defense in their upcoming match up against the Vikings.
The Chiefs are just killing it in every aspect except the defense as well, but it might not be too much of a worry going against A San Francisco who is now missing Jimmy Garoppolo because of his torn ACL.
Even tho they’re 2-1 the eagles pull off being number 3 after getting back a well rested, prepared and hungry Carson Wentz who had a hell of a game this weekend. Will this momentum continue? It might we will have to wait and see.
The Dolphins are headed to New England with all the confidence in the world and plan to continue their win streak against Tom Brady and the Patriots who will have to really pull through and shake things up to get a whim this Sunday.
The titans have everything at stake with their offense at minimum but still pulling off the win. Health conditions and injuries are a big factor. Let’s see if they can get a third win this week against the dominating Philadelphia Eagles!
