LA Clippers Media Day

LOS ANGELES, CA — LA Clippers media day has come and gone and it was a great experience to attend it was not filled an jammed packed like Lakers media day with the madness of new Laker star LeBron James but new Clippers names were in attendance from veterans like Marcin Gortat who came over this summer and rookies Jerome Robinson and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. All the player interviews and questions that I asked the players are provided below.

Asking Marcin Gortat on his thoughts on Shai Gilgeous-Alexander game and if he's excited to start running the Pick-and-Roll with his new teammate. Gortat says “We have played pick up games for three weeks and we have been able to get on the same page.. I asked him one question do you play FIFA on playstation? He said yes, so I said lets do give and go.. One thing I love about him he’s very patient and respects the veterans.” That is awesome to hear that him and Shai have been able to get on the same page and I love the FIFA reference and I like the give and go maybe I’ll ask Gortat to run the pick-and-roll sometime.

Asking Patrick Beverly and Danilo Gallinari their expectations on the rookies Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jerome Robinson. Beverly says “None not at all no pressure go out there and have fun enjoy the experience the ups and downs of the NBA. Enjoy winning games enjoy losing games no added pressure he goes out there and continues to be him.” Great words from a veteran like Patrick Beverly he has no expectations and wants him to be himself and Shai and the rest of the rookies have a leader that every rookie should want.

Boban and Tobias Harris made a hilarious video over the summer of them at a cycle class I asked if there would be more and he said “I appreciate you said that because you said you like it we try to improve our friendship on camera to bring positive to bring smiles to people faces” We him and Tobias sure did and I will be looking forward to all the potential upcoming cycling videos.

I ask rookies Jerome Robinson and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander whats the best advice they have received and who are the players the look up to in the NBA and more. Jerome says “The best advice I’ve received is staying true to yourself and true to your grind you gotta put the in work yourself..guys that I have received advice from is David West I grew up in his AAU program he’s a pros pro and I’m glad he is one of my mentors”. Love the way Jerome answered the question and great to see which former players are having an impact on the new wave of NBA players.

Avery Bradley and Luc Mbah a Moute are asked about being an elite defensive team without DeAndre Jordan this year, Bradley says “We miss DJ, DJ brought a lot to this team but I feel myself, Luc, and Pat we are elite defenders and we can guard 1-3 (positions) I feel like we can shock a lot of people this year.” Those three guys Bradley, Beverly and Moute are known for being elite defenders and I will be looking forward to seeing how they guard the other teams best player this upcoming season.
