Texans Final Preseason Game

Thursday night's preseason game against the Cowboys will be at the NRG Stadium. A substantial amount of the Texans roster won't see any action against Dallas. All the starters spots are secure and that portion of the team will be very rested for the season opener against the Patriots. But the majority of the guys are still fighting for roster spots.

The final preseason game will be an evaluation of rosters relative to scheme, but most importantly relative to their skill set. O'Brien also says that some guys that are still being analyzed can end up potentially starting for team in the regular season.

Livelihoods will change, but O'Brien says that it's part of the job."Anytime you have to release a player, that's not fun.

The Texans waived nose tackle Marcus Harrison and signed former Rams Cornerback Kayvon Webster. Texans continue to strengthen their secondary with additions of Tyrann Matheiu, Johnson Bademosi and Aaron Colvin all coming over in free agency.

Webster is coming off a season-ending Achilles injury in which he started 11 games for Rams last season.

The Texans coach Bill O'Brien is inspired  by the team's chemistry and by the intangibles of his players and how they interact. He is upbeat about to Texans viewpoint entering his Fifth Season coaching the team. They're coming off a 4-12 last place finish in the AFC South division last year.

The season will be predicated on DeShaun Watson staying healthy which could elevate DeAndre Hopkins stock being that they are arguably the best quarterback and wide receiver duo in the league.

After Thursday night's preseason finale, the 90-man current roster will get crop down to 53 at 3 p.m. central Time on Saturday.
