The Houston Texans lost to the LA Rams on Saturday afternoon 21-20 but there was a lot of great news to take from the game. More than half of the defensive starters made their way to the field for the first time this preseason. JJ Watt shake off some rust off and make a couple plays on the other side of the line of scrimmage, while Kareem Jackson which started at safety but moved over to cornerback got the first turnover with Int which led to the Texans first touchdown.

The defense was still a little short-handed on the day without Aaron Colvin, Dylan Cole and of course Whitney Mercilus. Kevin Johnson needs to get well real soon and back on the field for the Texans defense to be the superior scary group that they can be. Given the limited field time, it's tough to grade the starting offensive performance. The limited sample size was, to put in plainly ,poor.

The Rams defense was on top of its game and allowed the Texans absolutely no room. " Not everything was great today obviously, but we'll watch the tape and we'll get back and work hard to improve" O Brien said. The Texans have to get their act together fast before the regular season begins on September 9th.
