The second installment of "El Trafico" looked familiar for LAFC, as their early 2-0 lead failed to hold up in a draw with LA Galaxy.
LAFC was the first team strike first with a header from Carlos Vela who put up them up 1-0 in seventh minute which Banc of California stadium erupted.
Then a spectacular free kick from Lee Nguyen put up LAFC 2-0 and in the first half they completely controlled the game.
With the lead established early, LAFC imposed their style of play over LA Galaxy, their one-touch football frustrating their opponents and almost seeing them score again in the 12th minute with Latif Blessing's far-post shot from the right after a quick give-and-go with Lee Nguyen going just wide.
The Galaxy finally cut the deficit in the 82nd minute as Alessandrini chested down a cross from Ibrahimovic and fired into the back of the net.
The ghosts from the first derby finally came back to haunt LAFC in the 86th minute as Andrè Horta's attempt at a backpass from beyond the halfway line served more as a through ball for Ola Kamara, who rounded Miller to make it 2-2.
In a almost self destruct way LAFC was able to hold on to the tie against LA Galaxy. Carlos Vela and company will have to wait until August 24th in Carson, CA at the Stub Hub Center in order to get their first ever win against in the derby.
