The Los Angeles Lakers arguably the best franchise in all of sports have done it again. They lured the best player in the world LeBron James to Los Angeles to be a part of this historic franchise. They signed him to a 4 year/$153.3 deal the largest deal he has done since signing a 6 year deal with the Miami Heat in 2010. James Leaves the Cleveland Cavalier’s franchise as the all-time leader in Points, Assist, Steals, 3-pt made, & is second in rebounding. He delivered a world championship to the city of Cleveland in 2016 for the first time since 1964.

LeBron takes on a challenge of playing in his first NBA season away from a conference he has controlled for at least a decade and now takes his “talents” to the western conference.
This moved has transitioned the Lakers to 7-2 odds to win NBA title this upcoming season. Magic Johnson the Lakers President of Basketball Operations may be one of the biggest reasons why James chose the Lakers over everyone else. The Former Laker and five time champion and hall of famer took on the challenge to be in charge of the personnel of the Lakers and has delivered what he said he would, a superstar to Los Angeles. James and Magic’s relationship throughout the season will be an interesting one as two iconic figures work together to get the Lakers back to their glory days.

The young core of guys for the Lakers: Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma, Lonzo Ball, etc. will play a huge role in how far LeBron is able to carry this team. He will look to these players to make major leaps from the previous season knowing that this upcoming season will come with expectations. They will have to mature rather quickly.
Now that the Lakers have officially come back to relevance, the road back to a championship has officially begun. James and this core of young talent combined with Magic running the show upstairs, the Lakers have more than promise, they have a future.
