LOS ANGELES -- Wednesday night at 7:30PST LAFC will host The Portland Timbers at Banc of California Stadium.  This will be the second time these two power house teams match up against each other this week.  Sunday both teams collided in regular season match and it ended in a 0-0 draw.  This game is the quarterfinal duel in the knockout stage of the U.S. Open Cup.

The Timbers are looking to be triumphant for the first time in winning this tournament.  LAFC is looking to lift this U.S. Open Cup trophy as an expansion team.  An endeavor that has only been accomplished  by two other expansion teams, The 1998 Chicago Fire and the Seattle Sounders in 2009.  Carlos Vela appears to be making his debut in this tournament as both teams will look to be in attack mode as LAFC Goalie Tyller Miller and Timbers goalie Jeff Atinella will need to be well prepared to endure the shots on goal these two teams will provide.
