I have won several PGA tournaments this golf season. I have some really hot picks for the PGA Championship at TPC Sawgrass a course famous for its 17th hole featuring an island green. This is a difficult golf course which has a high possibility of major players not making the cut so put together a balanced lineup. This course has been redone and is a little different so going off of past is harder to read.
John Rahm (11.8k) He's been in prime form and is one of the up and coming top golfers in the world. I think he can get hot on this golf course and run away with a victory. The course in the past for him has given him troubles and he is very emotional on a golf course that will punish you for mistakes. To me, if he is going to win he needs to keep his emotions positive and keep the ball out of the bunk and in play, he will have himself a great tournament.
Hendrik Stenson (11.6k) Seems like he's is always around the top leaderboard and had an excellent masters tournament. I really like him in this tournament To me he is a threat to win the tournament I like the Swedish Taylormade Swinger for this golf course because he is always a threat to win an event. He plays strikes ball well and his putter has been great for the last few tournaments, I think Stenson is a play you need to consider.
Justin Thomas (11.9k) He's under 12k and that's why he is a great play. You need a balanced lineup in this tournament. Justin Thomas has been great in the past couple tournaments. I think he is a candidate to win the tournament and this is a golf course that plays into his strength of accuracy. If his approach shots are great to look for him to be great and win this tournament.
Near the top of the Leaderboard
Emiliano Grillo (9.2k) He is one of the best when it comes to chipping and his ball striking is top notch. I expect him to be around the top of the leaderboard. He is one of my favorite plays this tournament because of his past few tournaments finishes and the fact he is on the lower side of the 9k's makes him a player that intrigues me.
Zach Johnson (10.1k) In my opinion the best short game player is Phil Mickelson. The second best is Zach Johnson. This is a course that sets up to Zach Johnsons game. With TPC Sawgrass you need accurate plays and he is the definition of accurate. The course is not for big bomber drivers like last weeks Wells Fargo Championship. ZJ is a safe play and I think he will have success.
Patrick Cantlay (9.8k) He been hot with his scoring over the past couple events. I really like him this weekend and I think he has a strong tournament. He has been surging up leaderboards in previous events and I expect the same this weekend. Look for him to have success at this event.
Bryson DeChambeau (9.6k) past two tournaments hitting 100+ points. he's hot, to say the least, I would play him in a balanced lineup. I think that you need players who have been hot in the past couple tournaments because this golf course requires the best from you. He is playing in a great form he will pay off, in the long run, considering the success he has had.
Kanye Gut Feeling
Francesco Molinari (9.5k) He will be a popular play for people this week. I think he could have success and find himself on the on the at near top (if not the top) of the leaderboard BUT, this might be a smart fade because of so much buzz around him because of his past success and considering they have redone the golf course was redone last year, we need to put less effort into the past success, because of the small sample size. He finished tied for 6th last year with this guy. Lucas Glover (7.5k) who besides the Wells Fargo, has scored really well. If you want to save some money play, Lucas Glover, instead of or play both if you are going off of past performances. Molinari is a sure-fire play in a double up or cash games but Lucas Glover is a smart tournament play. Or play both.
Hideki Matsuyama (10.5k) he is way too cheap. He is starting to regain form after an ugly past couple tournaments and who has tormented people who play him. BUT, He showed signs of life in the last tournament with a three-under round and raddled off some birdie streak in the last Wells Fargo tournament. I think this is where he rebounds and plays well this week, and not many will play him. He's the perfect tournament play. This golf course does require you best A game but I think Matsuyama is an interesting play.
Kyle Stanley (8.7k) Look you need cheap players to make the cut and continue to make birdies, look no further Kyle Stanley finished 4th last year and he knows this golf course well. He is the only one that I would consider in the past rating because he had a great Wells Fargo tournament. He is close to being in top form and he has had success in the past. I like him to go far and end up with a massive amount of points at the end of the tournament. ONCE AGAIN, play a balanced lineup, don't stack 3 favorites because a lot of high priced golfers might not make the cut.
As Always, May the FanDuel odds ever be in your favor.
