The Houston Rockets defeated the Golden State Warriors and moved one game closer to the NBA Finals. Defeating the Warriors 98-94 on Thursday night. After being down 2-1 after Game 3 this Rockets team was in a must win against the defending champs on their home floor and they rose to the occasion. Now they have control of the series with a loss on Saturday they still would get a Game 7 at the Toyota Center.

The Rockets got a much needed lift from an Eric Gordon who led with 24 points and has been a large reason they won games 4 & 5. He has been an instant playmaker off the bench and has taken a lot of pressure of the two stars Harden and Paul.
James Harden who did not have a great shooting night from the field missing all 11 of his three point attempts, and making just 5 of 21. Chris Paul had 20 points but may have injured himself that potentially may keep him out of Game 6.
They once again defended the Got point line well holding the Warriors to 10 made three pointers.

The Golden State Warriors now on a brink of elimination head back to Oracle arena in Oakland for a Saturday night must win. They got the scoring fire power from their big three but still not enough to get a crucial Game 5 win.
Kevin Durant led the team once again in scoring his fourth time with 29 points but did not shoot the ball well just 8-22. Steph Curry had 22 points on 8-17 but those makes seemed all tough and not good looks like he's accustomed to getting. Klay Thompson who was questionable coming into Game 5 because of a hard fall on Game 4 also contributed 23 points.
The Warriors will now have to get back to who they have been because if they don't their three straight trips to the Finals will be at stake.
