The Boston Celtics defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 108-83 on Sunday afternoon in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals. The Celtics used a huge first quarter jumping on the Cavaliers 36-18 and never looked back. They played looser, faster, and looked like a team destined with something to prove without their best player (Kyire Irving). They lead by 26 points at the half 61-35. This is a team most people picked not to even get out of the first round against the Milwaukee Bucks and now their leading 1-0 against the three time Eastern Conference Champions.

They were led by Jaylen Brown 23 points (9-16) which was a game-high and had 8 rebounds. Since coming back for Game 2 in the Eastern Semi’s against the Philadelphia Sixers he hasn’t seemed to miss a beat. Marcus Morris who got his first start in this 2018 postseason was an huge part of Coach Brad Stevens game plan on LeBron James and it worked he had a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds. He played with fire and energy and did not back down from King James. All-Star Al Horford had 20 points (8-10 fg) and had 6 assist and was by far the best big man in the game. Rookie Jayson Tatum contributed 16 points and 6 rebounds he has not looked like a rookie in this postseason and  continues to grow and show general manager Danny Ainge they may the right decision drafted him this past year’s draft.

The Celtics won this game in all aspect’s their starters outscored the Cavaliers 88-46. They were a plus 21 from three making 11 threes and holding the Cavs to only four and not allowing them to make a three in first half. They were also a plus nine in the assist department 27-18.

He had probably his worst game in this postseason according to his standards as he failed to surpass the 20 points mark in this postseason.
