Sixers Now Believe They Know What It Takes...?

The Philadelphia 76ers (50-30) win their 14th straight on Sunday defeating the Dallas Mavericks 109-97. This win puts them a full game ahead of the fourth seeded Cleveland Cavaliers who are 49-31. This is also the first time the Sixers have won 50 games in a season since 2000-2001 when Allen Iverson led the charge. They get another win without their All-Star center Joel Embiid who is out with a fracture to his cheek bone.

The Sixers were led by their rookie stud Ben Simmons once again who had 16 points, 9 assist and 7 rebounds. Simmons continues to make his case for rookie of the year. He got contributions from guard JJ Redick who led them team with 18 points and Robert Covington who scored 15 points.

The Sixers dominated the rebounding battle grabbing 52 boards compared to just 43 by the Mavs and they also won the assist category 32-24. They have found ways to win without their All-Star which is a good sign for any team heading into the post season because once Embiid gets back this team should be clicking on all cylinders.

The Mavs (24-57) who have yet again had a disappointing season, were led by their rookie guard who had a double-double scoring 20 points and dishing out 11 assist. Harrison Barnes who led the team with 21 points shot only 2-9 from three point range. No Dirk Nowitzki for this team to lean on, so they might as well start building for the future.
