The Toronto Raptors (55-22) last saw the Boston Celtics (53-24), Raptors first-place team in the Eastern Conference, lost last night, to the third-place Cleveland Cavaliers. They also lost to the depleted second-place Boston Celtics three nights prior. Raptors are on a downward trend they have lost five of their last eight games, the worst stretch in what’s so far been the best season in the history of the franchise.
The Raptors don’t have much time left to pull together their flagging defense and get it back to the level it had achieved for the first five months of the season. There’s a lot at stake this season for Toronto, and they’re a long way from getting themselves into the right rhythm. They in a must win situation in order to end their two game losing streak.
