The New Orleans Pelicans travel to the Quicken loans arena to take on Lebron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. This nationally televised game will host the best player in the world in LeBron James and the best big man in the game in Anthony Davis.
The Pelicans routed the Cavs in the first meeting 123-101. The Pelicans starters outscored the Cavs starters 112-59 in that game led by Davis and All-star Demarcus Cousins who combined for 59 points and 26 rebounds.
This game is significant for both teams. The Cavaliers are currently third in the Eastern Conference at 45-30 are just a half-game ahead of the fourth place Philadelphia Sixers. The Cavaliers have won four of their previous five games. A loss for the Cavs could move them to the fourth seed in the East and a win can give them some breathing room.
The Pelicans are currently in the sixth seed in the Western Conference and are just a half-game ahead of the seventh seed Minnesota Timberwolves and one game ahead of the Utah Jazz who currently sit in the eighth seed. They have lost two straight and a win can potentially move them up to the fourth seed because they are only a half-game behind the fourth and fifth spot.
