The Oklahoma City Thunder (43-30) lost to a shorthanded Boston Celtics (48-23) team 100-99 led by their rookie phenom Jayson Tatum. The Celtics without their superstar Kyrie Irving and heart & soul in Marcus Smart found a way to beat a Thunder team that has reeled off sixth straight wins before tonight. Starting forward Jaylen Brown also didn't play in this game.

This game was back & forth from the jump and no team really took control of the game until the Thunder were up 99-94 with under a minute left in the game. Terry Rozier who started in place of injured starter K. Irving played well scoring 14 points and adding 6 assist. He hit a big three that cut the Thunder lead to 99-97.

The Celtics were able to force Carmelo Anthony to miss two key free throws which kept the Celtics alive and ultimately the Celtics got an opportunity and take full advantage with forward Marcus Morris (21 points) who hit the game-winning three. Rookie Jayson Tatum led the Celtics with 23 points and 11 rebounds.

The Celtics win despite All-Star Al Horford not having an impact scoring with only 5 points, 7 assist, and 6 rebounds.

The Thunder were led by reigning MVP Russell Westbrook who had 27 points, 8 rebounds, 7assist and got contributions from All-Star forward Paul George who scored 24 points and led the Thunder with 13 rebounds.

The Thunder bench was outscored by Celtics bench 35-10. The Thunder who are currently in fourth spot in the Western Conference must get something of significance from their bench if they look to make a serious push come playoff time. Celtics don't seem to have that problem.
