The Houston Rockets showed up to the Moda Center and put the Portland Trailblazers 13 game winning streak to an end. The Rockets defeated the Trailblazers 115-111 in a national televised thriller. This game was probably the best game of the year from beginning to end.
The Rockets superstar James Harden put on a show for the fans in Portland. He put up 42 points, 7 assist, and 6 rebounds. He hit big shot after big shot regardless of who was defending him and his backcourt mate Chris Paul was asked after the game what he thought about Harden’s performance, and he said “this is what he do, he’s been doing it all year long so we weren’t surprised by it.”
Paul who took some heat from Blazer guard Damian Lillard the last two time these two teams met, showed up as well scoring 22 points, and grabbing 8 rebounds to go along with his 6 assist.
The Blazers had won previously won 18 of their last 19 at home.
Damian Lillard who has been playing like a MVP during the Blazers streak of 13 straight scored 20 points but did not make a three and was 0-7. Al-Farouq Aminu was the leading scorer for the Blazers scoring 22 points. Jusuf Nurkic chipped in with 21 points and pulled down a game high 11 rebounds.
Both teams took care of the ball only a combined 17 turnovers.
The Rockets were a plus 24 from three. They are now 3-0 vs the Blazers with one more meeting coming in April.
