The Portland Trailblazers (42-26) have now won 11 straight games and have become a serious threat in the Western Conference. They took down the Detroit Pistons 100-87 on Saturday Night.
The Trailblazers are currently third in the Western Conference.
They were led by first year All-Star Damian Lillard 24 points and former Most Improved Player of the year CJ McCollum 16 points. They got 60 points from the rest of the team. Hopefully come playoff time they can rely on them to contribute consistently.
The Pistons (30-38) continue to struggle and are (2-8) in their last 10 games. They are currently ninth in the Eastern Conference and six games behind the Miami Heat for the eighth spot.
All-Star Andre Drummond led them with 18 points and 22 rebounds. Blake Griffin contributed 15 points and 7 assist and 6 rebounds.
The experiment of Andre Drummond and newly acquired forward Blake Griffin hasn’t gone the way the organization and coach Stan Van Gundy would have hoped. This team has struggled since starting point guard Reggie Jackson went down to injury. They have to play better than 500. basketball the rest of the way to even sniff the playoffs. Good Luck.
