The Denver Nuggets (37-30) travel to Staples Center to take on the Los Angeles Lakers. Both teams are currently on the outside fighting for playoff spots.
The Nuggets and Lakers faced off last Friday on March 9th in the Mile High with Nuggets defeating the Lakers 125-116. The Nuggets are in the ninth spot in the Western Conference and in a virtual tie with the Utah Jazz.
The Lakers (30-36) are 7-2 since the All-Star break. Technically their still alive for a play-spot but a few things have to go in their favor. They first need to take care of business tonight against a Nuggets team that has beaten them two out of the past three.
Tonight’s game should have some added incentives. The past two times they have faced the Nuggets the previous games have ended in some back and forth between Denver’s point guard Jamal Murray. He has gotten under the skin of a few players as well as head coach Luke Walton who feels Murray was disrespectful towards some of the Lakers.
Lakers point guard Lonzo Ball was asked after they last faced each other. “I don’t know, I don’t really worry about Jamal Murray,” Ball told reporters when asked what Murray did at the end of the game. “Like I said, ain’t nobody worried about him.”
Either way don’t expect handshakes with Murray before the game.
