LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers (38-27) visit the Staples Center for the second time in three nights this time to face the Los Angeles Lakers (29-36). The Cavs coming off a 116-102 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers look to rebound against improved Lakers squad.

The Cavs who began the season struggling to find themselves as a team eventually decided to make changes before the trade deadline. A few of those key new pieces are Jordan Clarkson and Larry Nance Jr. who were traded to Cleveland from the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Isaiah Thomas and Channing Frye.

Isaiah Thomas was one of the players who did not fit in with the bigger picture for the Cavs which was to win a championship. He has fit in well thus far for this young Lakers team. He’s averaging 15.5 points/gm and 5.4 assist.

The Lakers will face Clarkson and Nance Jr. for the first time since they were traded last February.

Another big storyline for this game is this being a potential landing spot for free agent LeBron James this upcoming summer. There have been billboards around the city of Los Angeles trying to help persuade James in coming to LA.

That’s all nice and cute. It won’t be something that will persuade the future Hall of Famer into making his decision. The product the Lakers put on the floor tonight will have a lot to do with it.
