The MLS Cup final is among us and we couldn’t be more excited. The underdog teams came in to show out and dominate the MLS all season long. Atlanta United has come in to create a new standard in the MLS and its clear that having two different teams from the usual in the final is always great to see and establish their mark in this tournament. Portland Timbers are the main season underdogs and are looking to prove that you don’t have to be the biggest name in the league in order to win and compete in bigger tournaments. Let’s break down what to expect for this season’s Final on Saturday.

Atlanta FC started debuted in 2017 as a member of the Eastern Conference of the MLS. Even though there has been some history of being part of the NASL and since then the team, management, sponsors and coordinators have done an amazing job in growing this team and pushing them forward to become the next powerhouse of Major League Soccer. Now they’re just one 90-minute match up away from doing the what many teams aspire to do and win the MLS title after only one season from their debut.

Portland Timbers

Portland timbers debuted in Major League Soccer in 2009 after the same ownership acquired the USL Pro team in 2007. The Timbers last won the MLS Cup Final in 2015 and are seeking to put obtain the cup once again. The Timbers are having the best away record this season and it will be no different since Atlanta will be hosting them this Saturday.
