The Los Angeles Clippers (2-1) defeated the Houston Rockets 115-112 on Sunday night to win their second straight. They defeated a short-handed Rockets team who were without their point guard Chris Paul (suspension).

Tobias Harris and Danilo Gallinari once again led the way combining for 43 points. They made three of the teams five 3-pt FG attempts.
The bench was a major factor in the game outscoring the Rockets bench 56-28. They had three players in double figures. Montrezl Harrell who plays with such emotion and energy had a double-doublewith 17 points and 10 rebounds.
Lou Williams and rookie Shai Gilgeous-Alexander each had 12 points.
Gilgeous-Alexander who Doc has extreme confidence in said after the game "We're all composed and not fazed by the moment," the rookie said. "I'm always really confident in myself. I know how hard I work and it pays off."
The Clippers were a +15 from the free throw line (26-11) while making all 26 of their free throw attempts.

The Houston Rockets (1-2) were coming off their first back-to-back games (on the road) when they faced the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday night at Staples Center.
Reigning MVP James Harden led all scorers with 31 points to go along with his 14 assist (game-high). Harden who was coming off a 36 points and 7 assist performance against the Lakers the night before, picked up right where he left off.
The Clipper guards picked up the reigning MVP up 94 ft. from the basket trying to wear down the guard knowing he was without his backcourt Chris Paul and he wouldn't be as fresh playing the night before.
Coach Mike D'Antoni who didn't make excuses after the game about not having his floor general said "You know how much we miss him, that's obvious, but still we had enough to win," Houston coach Mike D'Antoni said. "It shouldn't be an excuse. We should have played better."
Chris Paul who was serving the first game of his two game suspension for the altercation with Lakers point guard Rajon Rondo on Saturday night, the will miss the next game against the Utah Jazz.
Eric Gordon who started in place of Chris Paul played well in Paul's absence scoring 21 points and making a game-high 5 threes. Clint Capela who has a great understand playing alongside Harden and Paul scored 23 points (11-14 fg).
The Rockets lose this game despite being a +30 from three (15-5) a category they led the league in a year ago that helped them cruise to the best record in the game a year ago.
Clippers now travel to New Orleans to take on the Pelicans Tuesday 10/23 5:00 PT.
