LAFC beats Houston Dynamo 4-2

LOS ANGELES, CA — On Friday, there was an almost two-hour rain and lightning delay... in Los Angeles! With the win LAFC made a case to move up in the standings, as they battle Western Conference leaders FC Dallas and Sporting KC for a top two seed.

Three minutes after Manotas' goal, the game went into a weather delay the first ever at the stadium, due to lightning in the area around the stadium.

LAFC seemed to regroup during the delay. In the 43rd minute, Carlos Vela drew a penalty on Dynamo goalkeeper Tyler Deric. Vela buried it to tie the game, LAFC took the lead shortly after as Vela sent a cross in that was tapped in by Adama Diomande.

It was an incredibly game by LAFC and also Vela who added a spectacular chip, over the goalkeeper to make it a final score of 4-2.

With the win LAFC moves up to second place in the Western Conference with 56 points and they have a shot at first place FC Dallas that currently has 57 points. The next game for LAFC is against Vancouver Whitecaps on October 21st at home.
